Sean replaced the air filters on my 22 720s Spider while he was in town. I wanted to use his new Dry Air filters and remove the foam inserts inside the airboxes as they have been known to fall apart and clogg the air filters. I have a goose tune stage 2 what spark plugs should I go with
I would ask Goode. Not familiar either their setup.
Thanks for this video sir. It helped out a lot
So I’ve been doing some research on this Pedal Commander and I see that they updated the app and really messed everything up. Has that been fixed?
This video is 5yrs old. Haven’t used a throttle booster on any of my new vehicles. Had a JLUR after the JK and now a Bronco Raptor. None of our sports / super cars needed any of it. Wish I could assist with that.
Yeah I pulled out to beat someone driving the other way at a intersection and hit the gas and truck waited 1.5 seconds - then started rolling and then finally powered up to cross! The whole time I'm thinking Go truck go so I don't get Tboned!! I'm in a 2015 f150 with almost 400 horsepower 🤔🤔 is this normal? Thanks Ford for making this sketchy and I guess I'll wait until the full road is clear next time
That is unfortunately normal in most modern cars these days. Mercedes, Porsche… I would blame the EPA before blaming the manufacturer. I recently bought a Bronco Raptor and have not experienced these issues with it at all. Doesn’t even need a throttle booster.
❤❤❤❤nice😊😊
Hey, thank you very much for the video. I changed mine today for the first time at 70,000. Followed your perfect instructions, took me about 45 minutes. If I do it again I’ll do it in half the time. I’m 6’4 and still need a step ladder for the back 2. Truck had a rough idle and it solved the problem instantly. Thanks again!!!
Happy to be of help!
Damn you mclaren fanboys are awfully insecure about the stigma of your cars
Well, Mr. Very secure about himself, Marvin… not sure how you summed up this interview with some of your projected insecurities. We could have purchased ANY other super car and saved a bit of money. We drive what we connect with and what we enjoy. I highly recommend you do the same.
What makes you think that? My McLaren is 6 years old and has not had any mechanical issues. The Prius I owned had 2 engines and 3 transmissions in that timeframe.
excellent info, thanks
Do you know what the part number is for those rubber tabs in the back of the engine cover?
Sean and Kevin at McMedics/SuperCarGarage ATL are incredible assets to the McLaren community. Highly recommend these guys. Seans videos were a lifesaver and he provides them for free to the community. I was lucky that Kevin lives 5 mins away, and he helped me out so many times, and worked on my 12C many times. Always fair, always willing to help the community!
Great vid!
Nice video! One day when youre famous, this garage will be your garage lol.
Thanks brother. We miss you around here in Austin.
Kino, great video! Hope all is well! @mcmedics are great! Sean and Kevin are awesome resources for McLaren owners
Thank you sir!
Thanks for your detailed instructions. Every time I change my spark plugs I watch your video. Easy Peasy ✌🏾
That engine cover doesn’t fit a 2018 does it?
It sure does. That truck is a 2018.
@@kinosgarage Nice. Love your videos. Just changed my plugs. The process isn’t bad, but getting up over that engine is a task!
How much torque should be given to adjust?
How often should the Ignition Coil be changed? and the spark plugs?
Cool packs shouldn’t be replaced unless they have gone bad. I would do the plugs every 36-40k miles.
💞 'promo sm'
Ford quoted me $500 to change the plugs! No thank you, lol.
So the Gen3 cover fits the Gen2 just fine?
Yep same generation so it should
Anyone know if that 2019 engine cover will fit the 2018? It looks so much better and I need to replace mine.
Omg Thanks for this video
super cool.....amazing hidden power im gonna grab one
Sport by itself is my favorite for daily driving
Which port did you fill top or bottom?
Lower hole.
Amazing build. Question. If one just wanted the suspension shown, could you not get a cage?
You could. Let us know if you need help connecting with the shop.
Which way did you come in from, on which Forest Road?
It’s been a minute! Sorry I don’t recall.
@@kinosgarage Thanks anyway
Thank you for the video - especially showing taking off the dash panel. I was 30 seconds from a mental breakdown, upside down in my JK trying to unplug the harness before I saw your video.
Is this the same for a 2019? Dealership just quoted me $700 to change the plugs. Said 5 hours labor plus parts.
Yes, it is the same.
And I thought MY DEALER was screwing me over - they quoted $486 to change the 6 plugs and boots. I found this video and my 9 year old son is helping me change them as I type this. Currently researching the anti-seize in the comments. I worried about getting it into the recessed hole, not this time, but NEXT time I change plugs because it will be on the threads inside the cavity and the NEXT plug I drop in could theoretically pick some of it up on the tip as I insert it. However after removing the old plug and seeing how dirty it was I'm no longer concerned, because that dirt was in there too. Likely a non-issue. My son and I are going to start a RUclips channel focused on doing things we've got no experience in, following other instructional videos -hopefully showing how easy some of this stuff is. Which is why we want to capture our FIRST time doing it on video. So far, we've had to stop because I don't have a 3/8" swivel. So I'm going to need to go to the parts store and buy one. Also, my spark plugs were super squeaking sounding as I was removing them. The force I needed to free it up too was way more than I expected and it took like what seemed forever to unscrew it completely. Was tight the entire way almost - though looking at the threads and the length of them I now see why.
@@RichardTurlington 5 hours hahaha, 2019 Raptor here: I just did mine for the first and I'm not an advanced mechanic. Firs time I ever did it. Even took that last step with a torque wrench per the video. Just like the video said, I did it in 45 minutes taking my time. Couldn't be easier
Great video than you !
I’m recently installed it in my 2012 jk with 101000 miles, set up in City 4, and is giving me up to 19.3 mpg, before I was running by 15mpg wi 373 ratio, 33”tires. I really like 👍
Has your catch can ever caused a check engine light or timing to jump ?
Removed it a couple of months after I did this video. It clogged (there might be other better ones) but most people who had them had nothing but issues. I would not recommend out one on, personally.
Great video and very helpful! I’m doing mine tomorrow and this was a great way to show just how simple it is. Thank god for that too as I know some vehicles can be a nightmare for plug replacements. Thanks!
The ladies that do Jeep Vids are always so informative and give great tips! Guys - you could learn a lot paying more attention to Jeep girls, this was the only Vid I saw the showed how to get to the module! Nice Job!
Excellent video 👍👍
do you have have to install new splash shields or can you just leave it raw like that?
did you really need to cut off the front metal fender supports?
You saying “south cal” is driving me nuts!!! It’s SO CAL
Oh, I’ve heard this so many times! Lol. I’m settled in and got the lingo. Thanks for your feedback.
Thank you for showing that you remove that panel - all these other videos show getting to it from underneath which is almost impossible on the JK 👍👍👍
Yes , remove that it make it more accessible and easy. I ordered mine, waiting to be installed.
How can I get the same custom tune as what you received?
Shoot me an email. I’ll get you setup.
Great video question the sp550 come with a gap of 0.31 is that ok for a stock 2018 raptor?
It varies from .031-.034. Unless you have a proper tool to gap those plugs, I would not mess with them. Ford did away with the SP550 and went with an even hotter plug now.
@@kinosgarage ok just went down to my local O'Reilly they had the Motorcraft sp550 with the gap at .031 thanks
@@AC-jw5fc that’s great. Cannot buy them from my local dealer.
Sounds like he was talking about "Baja Kits" as what he didn't want? Kevin is awesome, and built my F150.
Time to slap some bigger turbos on her.
Been running this tune for a couple of weeks, moving from one of their earlier versions. Runs amazing, with notable increased power. Really fun to get those second gear chirps with 35” tires. I am very happy with it, and it has provided more smiles while driving.
Glad you like it Travis! I been on the road for 1560 miles and went up hill, down canyons and all over I-10 from temps ranging above 114 degrees. It’s holding up great and didn’t experience any heat soak. Love the new fuel map as well. Thank you for your support.
I cut off my front fender metal brackets off to. also, thanks, I wondered what the 1" bolts were for in the mce package
How often should you change your plugs?? I have 56,000 should I change them
I changed mine every 12k miles. You can go longer if you stay with the stock ones but 57k miles is too long. Depending on the plug itself and the engine they are designed for, some manufacturers recommend you changing them every two years or 24k miles if not driven hard. Many Raptor owners (ecoboost) saw improvement in performance and better-smoother idling from replacing their plugs. The job takes about 30 min max.
I got 35s then regeared to 4.56s. Would I still even need this.
Was $17k just the front end? I tried to keep up with the dialogue but got lost.
Travis Harmor you can send me your info kino@raptorjunkies.com and I’ll go over build details with you.
Would like to know more about your Jeep spec tires lift please it looks very nice!!!
PC18 the number ?
guille correct.
@@kinosgarage Do you have an idea if the accelerator pedal is also programmed with the bdx bully dog, so as not to spend too much money on two products
guille the tune file that you load on an SCT tuner such as BDX can adjust the throttle map. Let me know if you need help. I worked with GH on an amazing tune for the Gen2 raptor.
@@kinosgarage If the idea is to program it, I already have the bdx bully dog but I am waiting for them to deliver the agency's raptor, I already have the intake k & n and the downpipes to boost everything together,
I am from Argentina, I am a fan of American cars, I have a 2018 ss camaro also with intake k & n, commander pedal and exhaust, in this case I would also lack the ecu to boost
You CANNOT use dielectric grease or antiseize on the spark plugs. I followed this video and now I've been chasing a shit ton of misfires.
your are very mis-informed. You CAN use it, just don't put a pound on it. Even the ford engineer I visited with said to use some along with two other mechanical engineers, an engine builder and my tuner. You are getting misfires due to other issues with your truck. Probably running a ton of boost of the wrong plug. I am running the new ford perf one degree colder plugs that replaced the SP542's. I have 36k hard miles with half of them on the trails doing testing and had zero issues. (aside of running a tune with high boost that I no longer use). follow me on my other channel where I did 50+ new vids.
Hey I have a goose tune stage 2 what spark plugs should I go with
@@franklinaguilar4837 whatever Winfield recommends you use. I don't have my raptor any more.
